Bennett (9) is the oldest of two children. He has a younger sister. Bennett lives with his mother (Jennifer) and father (Tom). They also have a 3 year old dog, Mia who is very sweet. Mia may initially jump on companion but will not be aggressive. Parents are good at redirecting Mia. Very nice family to work with. Bennett is currently receiving ABA therapy and he is learning how to be more cooperative and independent. Bennett tends to want to be the focus and always talking/questioning at home which is why respite should be away from the home at a local park in McFarland. Mom can assist with where to go. Even if companion takes Bennett away from the home with some toys and drawing items for companion and Bennett to do, would be very helpful! Bennett is a math genius and often calls himself "Dr Math". His trigger is his little sister so respite will primarily be done outside the home.
Companion should be upbeat, friendly and like to play. Per mom, Bennett doesn't really like sports but will go on playground equipment and run around. He likes to draw and color. Companion should be able to model good boundaries and positive behaviors. An ideal schedule would be Sundays from 12 - 4 pm but is flexible.
