About Us

We are a Christian family of 7 with 5 kiddos ranging in age from 6 to17. We are specifically seeking respite for our 11-year-old daughter, Caroline. She is our only kiddo adopted from foster care. We also have 2 dogs (Golden Doodle & Morkie). We have lived in Sun Prairie for 5 years and really enjoy staying busy with seasonal activities and sports. Both parents work full time, though mom works remotely from home.

How You Can Help

We are looking for a female caregiver that can spend time with Caroline to bring some structured playtime to her day through in home activities or fun in the community. Someone familiar with childhood trauma, adoption or in school for social work / psychology would be ideal, but not an absolute. Personal transportation is a must. Would be supportive of this person taking Caroline to activities in the local community. We have a membership to the Public Library, Madison Children's Museum and Prairie Athletic Club. Would love this person to be able to provide some tutoring in Reading. Caroline is significantly delayed academically and could really benefit from additional support with reading. Looking for care on Sundays - a good chunk of the day (but flexible) to get out in the community and have fun with 1:1 support. Mon-Thu evenings: Evenings are a high risk time at our house as there is so much happening and not availability for Caroline to have the 1:1 attention that is needed during this time. She could really benefit from having someone approximately 5p-8:30p Mon-Thu that could help her stay busy while I finish work, dinner is being prepared, and then assisting with evening routine of preparing clothes / backpack for the next school day and encouraging her to complete her personal hygiene tasks, she would love for someone to help her blow dry her hair and braid it a couple days a week. Friday Evenings : Her brother plays Varsity football and we need someone to care for Caroline while we support him at his games on Friday nights. Attending the games have been very difficult for Caroline and our family has had to leave one parent home with Caroline while the other goes to the game. Ideally we would like a provider available from 6p-10p on Friday evenings when possible. Occasional Weekends: Any availability on the weekends is welcome. Saturday during the day is ideal, so errands can be completed and other kids can have time for their activities. We typically attend church at 5p on Saturdays Sundays, Caroline could really use support with straightening her room for the week and getting her laundry washed, dried and hung up in her closet. A task she has been very resistant to completing independently.
