We are a LGBTQ+ affirming household. Ella lives with her Mom, Erin, StepMom, Hillary, and her brother, Bret 50% of the time in McFarland. The other 50% she lives with her Dad, Jeff, StepMom, Gianna, and her brother, Bret in DeForest. We do not have any pets in our household, however, Ella enjoys the companionship of her dog, Teddy, when she is at her Dad's house. Hillary and I (Erin) are both teachers, therefore, we are home for much of the time in the summers and enjoy spending that extra time with Ella and Bret. We care very much about health and wellness (healthy eating, moving our bodies, enjoying fresh air). We are also a musical family! We all play a musical instrument and enjoy singing. Ella plays piano and trumpet.
I am hoping that Ella's Respite Companion will be skilled in working with neurodivergent tweens. Ella craves attention when she is interested in talking about topics she cares about deeply. We would love if Ella's respite companion owned a dog. Ella would love going to the dog park with her Respite Companion or having an adult to take her to the Humane Society while she reads to the animals. If Ella's Respite Companion owned a dog, perhaps they could even take the dog for walks! (note: the dog would only be welcome outside of our home). My wish is for the Respite Companion to help Ella with activities of daily living (making lunch, putting away laundry, cleaning her room...). This person should be kind, compassionate, caring, encouraging, a good listener, organized, helpful, responsible, and enjoy spending time with children. We're looking for someone to be a positive role model in Ella's life and someone who is respectful of the LGBTQ+ dynamic in our household. Summer care is flexible but during the school year we would like someone the help with Ella's morning routine to get her ready for school and to the bus stop. - 6:30-7:45 am.
