About Us

Kharisma is a vibrant, energetic and friendly young woman with autism. She can take care of her personal needs, but has difficulty with higher level intellectual skills. She is very good at masking her disability. She lives at home with her two older siblings, Markell and Kendall, and her mother Portia. Portia is very overwhelmed with life right now and needs a provider that can take Kharisma out into the community. Kharisma knows lots of fun low-cost activities and has many ideas of things she would like to do with a provider.

How You Can Help

Kharisma's ideal respite provider is someone who is younger and fun and who likes to do fun things like go to the zoo. Kharisma will likely not have money to bring with her on activities, so it is important that her provider is savvy and can work around mealtimes and/or ask Kharisma or Portia to pack her a lunch on outings. Someone who likes to be active and likes to participate in community activities would be the best match for her. Kharisma says her ideal respite provider would have a dog that they would sometimes take on outings.
