About Us

Luca is in kindergarten and has a little sister, Maia, who is in 3k. Luca was diagnosed with autism when he was about 2.5. He is a very happy boy. He loves motion (climbing, jumping, monkey bars, swings, etc.) and he loves music (singing and dancing). He can commonly be found standing in front of a full length mirror playing music on his tablet and singing/dancing along. Luca is mostly non-verbal. He can repeat a lot of words, but we don't think he really understands what you're looking for him to say when you ask him a question. Luca loves structure and routine. He can be thrown off when his routine isn't followed and then he'll want to start over from the beginning, but in general he's very happy and loves to be on the move or singing/dancing.

How You Can Help

Dad is from Minnesota and mom is natively from Costa Rica, so we don't have any family members in the area. Looking for someone to babysit for a couple hours, so mom and dad can have a date night. Tasks would include feeding Luca dinner, getting him changed and put to bed. We've recently implemented a visual schedule at home and he does pretty well when that's incorporated into his bedtime routine.
