About Us

Malachi lives with mom and dad in Waunakee. He is 1.5 years old and very easy going. He loves to make music, look at books and crawl around. He relys on his g-tube for feedings every 3 hours. He is also in diapers. The family is looking for weekend care and are very flexible with the schedule. Respite care is new to them and are looking to develop a relationship with someone they can trust.

How You Can Help

Malachi recently had cleft lip/palate surgery, which per his mother, has been a remarkable success. She stated that in only a week following surgery, Malachi showed improvements in his sleep, his eating, and his overall happiness. His mother stated that a respite companion would allow her to accomplish more household duties like grocery shopping and appointments during the day without having to bring Malachi along with her. She also stated that she and Malachi's father have not been able to go on a date for some time and hoped that respite would allow that to be a possibility, as well. Malachi uses a G-tube for feeding and is fed every 3 hours all day and night. Malachi receives nutrition, meds, and supplements all through the G-tube. Therefore, whomever the family would agree upon to provide respite for Malachi, would also potentially need to know how to operate and feed Malachi via his G-tube.
